Forest Hills School Board votes to retire Redskins mascot at Anderson HS

School board members met virtually Thursday afternoon voting 4-1 on retiring the long-debated Redskins name amid growing pressure to remove racially-insensitive imagery across the country. Members also met Tuesday evening for a nearly two-hour discussion.

Anderson Superintendent Scot Prebles said Thursday the process of removing the mascot could include a steering and sub-committees for logistical purposes plus a private donation fund to cover the cost.
