An employee at Hartwell Elementary School has tested positive for the coronavirus. CPS confirmed that positive test Monday, saying the employee is currently under a 14-day quarantine, as recommended by the CDC and the local health department.
President of the Cincinnati Federation of Teachers Julie Sellers says employees of four other schools have also tested positive — one at each at school. However, she says the notification process is causing anxiety among teachers and staff.
“They’re not told who that person is because of HIPAA, so they have to go through a process of elimination of who is the person was I with?” said Sellers.
The district employee COVID-19 guide also says those in close contact with a person testing positive should also self-quarantine.
