Sharon Hunt, 66, taught at Reading Community School at the elementary level for 25 years before retiring Aug. 1. She was diagnosed with COVID-19 just a few weeks into her retirement and later developed pneumonia according to family.
From Reading Schools: “Sharon had an impact on hundreds of students throughout her teaching career at Reading Hilltop. I had the privilege and honor of working with Sharon. Not only did she challenge her students academically, but she also instilled a love of reading and encouraged each of them to be a good person. If a child was hungry, she shared her lunch. If a student was having a bad day, she gave up her lunchtime to hang out with them,” said Reading Board President Beth Wernery.
