Perrysburg Schools Superintendent Tom Hosler explained in a letter sent to families that in-person learning for this week had to be canceled due to staffing shortages and a high number of students needing to quarantine. 

Washington Local to go remote over staffing shortage

District officials announced Tuesday that students will return to remote learning beginning Wednesday. According to a written statement posted on the district’s Facebook page, each school district will send its remote learning schedule to parents via email.

TPS to return to full virtual learning as pandemic worsens

Toledo Public Schools officials on Monday announced that all grade levels will return to remote learning amid an uptick in coronavirus cases in Lucas County.

While not the only local district to announce a rollback of in-person learning Monday — Oregon City Schools plans to return students in grades seven to 12 to hybrid learning, while the district’s younger students would reduce their in-person learning from five to four days  — TPS is by far the region’s largest district, and its decision could serve as a sign of things to come for families as the pandemic intensifies.
