Cuyahoga County sees sharp spike in COVID-19 cases in the community and in schools

Cuyahoga County has reported a record surge in the number of coronavirus cases in the last week, recording about 1,000 new cases on Sunday alone.

“Across the board in our county, we’re seeing spread, so it was only a matter of time until we saw it in schools, and now we’re spiking,” said Suzanne Hrusch, who tracks coronavirus data at the Cuyahoga County Board of Health (CCBH). The CCBH reports 640 Covid cases across 86 school buildings in the county, with a sudden surge in the last week.
