The district has selected Mindy Zellner as the new principal of Maple Dale Elementary and Jessica Ralston as the new principal of Symmes Elementary.
Mindy Zellner will be replacing Ann Marie Reinke upon her retirement at the end of the school year. Zellner has a rich history at Maple Dale Elementary, as a former student, student-teacher, teacher, and administrator. Zellner has served as assistant principal at Maple Dale since 2016 while also overseeing the district’s gifted programming for the past seven years. Prior to her administrative roles, Zellner served as a gifted intervention specialist for 11 years. She also taught at Symmes Elementary between 1998 and 2002.
Jessica Ralston has spent the bulk of her career serving Symmes students and families. Ralston has been the acting principal of Symmes Elementary during the 2020-21 school year following the death of longtime principal Anne VanKirk. Ralston previously served six years as assistant principal of Symmes. Prior to becoming an administrator, Ralston was an intervention specialist and special education teacher for seven years at Symmes. She also taught for eight years at Pleasant Run Elementary.
