Some of the students involved with defacing a Mason school playground with a Nazi symbol and profanity have been identified and punished as the school district also announced a new partnership with a Jewish Holocaust education center.

Community members first reported the graffiti last Saturday, Carson said, through the Report an Act of Bias feature on the district’s website.
“Hate symbols are anathema to our Comet Culture, and we immediately began an investigation which included the city of Mason’s Campus Safety Team,” Carson said.
A “large group” of Mason Middle School students are being investigated after school officials discovered a swastika and other “lewd graffiti” at Mason Elementary School last week.
The graffiti has since been removed, officials said.
