For Toledo Public Schools students, the long wait of returning to full in-person instruction is coming to a close as district officials Monday announced plans to bring all of its students back to the classroom. The district will return to in-person instruction five days per week on April 19 for the first time since the coronavirus pandemic began.
TPS Superintendent Romules Durant said the district is in good shape to return with more than half of its staff vaccinated. “Nearly 70 percent of our staff has been vaccinated. We’re still vaccinating and our 16 to 18-year-olds are in the process of getting vaccinated throughout the next two months. We’ve had very little to no transmissions within our schools since we’ve been back on a hybrid schedule,” the superintendent said.
